Amy Kubanek
Amy Kubanek has been teaching Pilates in studios across Canada for over 15 years. Currently, Amy runs regular workshops, classes and private sessions and heads the Clinical Pilates program at Qi Integrated Health in Kitsilano. Most recently, Amy became certified by Sue Hitzmann to teach the Hands and Foot Melt Method® treatments.
"The Melt Method® is the missing link between my Pilates teaching and all the bodywork practices that I have learned over the years. I was immediately drawn to how SIMPLE yet effective this technique is. When I got to see Sue in person I was so impressed with how well researched MELT is and how well she made such technical information so accessible. I have witnessed immediate improvements in my clients and have felt long lasting changes in my own body. I am excited to share these ingenious tools for complete body wellness and pain-free living."
Amy has more than 20 years of study with master teachers of various modalities that include Ron Fletcher (Pilates), Kyria Sabin (Pilates), Deb Mendoza (Pilates), Dianne Miller (Pilates), Michelle Larsson (Pilates), Peter Boneham (Contemporary Dance), Julie Funk (Yoga), Tedi Tafel (Authentic Movement), Kathleen Keller (Therapeutic Ball Rolling), Linda Rabin (Continuum), Ruth Zaporah (Improvisation) and Peter Bingham (Improvisation). She completed over 800 hours of comprehensive training in Fletcher Pilates®; a style of Pilates that is internationally recognized for its unique tools for strengthening the body as well as its artistry.
